OK, One More Post

It occurred to me that anyone who doesn't know Jake or me or my family might think I am an insensitive guy, because of some of my attempts at humor. Just in case, I should point out that...

  1. It's not my intention to make light of any of Jake's problems and I generally only joke about things unrelated to serious health issues.
  2. Humor helps me deal with the uncertainty, pain and stress of the situation; I guess it's a sort of gallows humor, but then in the end, isn't all humor gallows humor? (That must be a quote I heard somewhere. Can't possibly be an original thought.)
  3. Laughter is the best medicine. (Now I know that HAS to be original.)
  4. "Insensitive guy" is generally redundant.
  5. What the heck, I AM insensitive. I'm a GUY!

    There's nothing wrong with the humour in your posts, you come across as a really nice guy, who cares deeply for his son. In fact you seem to be a very caring and loving family.

    Besides you have to be good to him, as one day he will be in charge of what care home you end up in when you can't remeber your own name, remember children can be very cruel and you want to be in a nice care home in your dotage!!!!

    Your all doing so well through all this and you still have a way to go, so don't worry about your posts, it's what keeps me coming back, plus I sort of feel like I know you, you could be my neighbours, that I want to keep checking on through a difficult time.

    It's now mid-day here in London and I know today will be a tough one for you all, I want you to know that we are all thinking of you and that Jake is in our prayers and we are hoping all goes well for him today.

    much love to you all and a big hug for mum and dad. Only a gentle squeeze for Jake, after all we don't want him with any more burises.

    We have put a post up for Jake on my blog and have found an Angel to watch over him, my eldest maitains that she so lovely Jakes eyes will want to get better, so he can see her proberly. ha ha.

    Regarding your 5th point.... Well at least you have the insite and sensitivity to realize that!

    Actually Jim, I commend your humor. I agree with Bill... the dry Hanten humor. Gotta love it!
