Video from my phone of Jake's graduation. I wanted to capture the reading of his name.
Jake wanted Denise and I to attend the graduation ceremony (he told me that he knew it was "important to Mom").
The ceremony was actually very nice and I was glad we went. Jake's friend Giovanna, the CHS ASB President, opened the ceremony and acknowledged Jake during her speech. As the graduates were announced, Jake's counselor, Mrs. Searl, announced that the next student could not be present before reading off "Jacob Daniel Hanten" and the class gave a standing ovation. It was very touching.
After the ceremony we were able to talk to some of his friends and get a few pictures to share with Jake when he is ready.
We also took a quick walk through the gym to see the Grad Nite setup. They had a giant "Get Well" card stationed by the entrance for all the kids to sign. I'm sure he will be very happy to receive that.

I'm glad to hear Jake is alive and starting to recover. I will pray for him and your family, and pass on the word to Kendall, Bryan and Justin.
When Jake gets better please let him know that the Fruitbat says hi and wishes him a speedy recovery!
