A little earlier Jake suddenly said, "What are we doing here?"
I said, "What, you mean you and me?"
"No, the whole group."
"Whole group? Are you having a dream?"
"Yeah."
Scared me a little at first because I thought maybe he was losing some awareness, but he had been talking in his sleep a little before that, so I figured it was just a dream.
Trauma doctor came in a few minutes ago. Apparently since the orthopedic surgeons cleared Jake's spine he should be able to start getting liquids later today. I don't think that can happen soon enough for Jake.
He's complaining this morning about swelling getting worse in his mouth. I think the doctors said that the third or fourth day will be the worst for swelling and we are well into day 3 at this point.
I posted a couple pictures that I shot at the CHS Graduation. They're not very good, but I wanted to share them with Jake when he's up to seeing them. Got a few shots of Jake's friends posing with his mortar board.

Glad to hear they cleared him to sit up and to get some liquids. Good idea to do the blog. And that is also very good news that it might be only one surgery and then the dental work!
ReplyDeleteGrandma says: "Thank God the news sounds pretty good. Wish I could see him but I guess I'll have to come back. Get well and I'll even let you beat me at Life."
ReplyDeleteJean says: "Get ready for Boggle! Between me, Kath and Jack and Terry we can come up with an Auntie-Invasion schedule so you guys can go back to work."
