I know so many of you want to visit Jake and see for yourself that he's OK. We've asked people to hold off for a few days as he tires easily. There has been so much action (5 CT scans in 24 hours, 5 different teams of doctors, etc). We don't yet know when he'll be home. If he comes home in a few days, he'll be back for his facial surgeries next week. So, if you plan to visit him before he gets home (and even after he does) please be understanding because you will only get to see him a few minutes. It's about an hour drive to Loma Linda from Temecula so you can decide if it's worth it. Those close friends who plan to come on Saturday please know it will only be a few minutes each. Jake is back on his phone but he can't always answer you right away as he needs to sleep a lot. Please try to get hold of me (Denise) on my cell phone and let me know the situation if you are coming. (You can also send a text to Jake's phone.) There is a waiting room where you can all wait together. Nap time on his unit is 3-4 pm so those are not good times. I, along with Jim, am so grateful to you guys who helped Jake at the scene and am so touched by EVERYONE who has offered help in any way. Jake is well loved and, though it will be a long haul, it appears he will recover from all his injuries. I am so proud of him. He has more strenghth than I could muster.
