Nightmare

Man, all this sedation is messing with Jake. He was sleeping peacefully when he suddenly threw off his ice packs, sheets etc., bolted upright, thrashing about in a total panic. I couldn't make out exactly what it was about, but something about a cliff and a creek or river. Sounded like he dreamed he was being forced under the water. Scared the hell out of him and me both.

So, I'm streaming "Best in Show" to my laptop at his bedside. He can't watch, but he can listen. I think that movie will be pretty safe. Not much to be scared of there.

  1. Poor kid. (OK - here i am - commenting again... my job is really boring me today...).

Thinking that is a good, safe choice - unless it hurts to laugh. He's probably seen it so many times just hearing it is plenty sufficient.

  2. Um, this is totally off-topic - but I just looked outside and there is a dead squirrel at the bottom of our pool. How did that happen????

  4. Jake dreams he's drowning and you find a drowned squirrel in your pool?! Coincidence? I think not.

  5. Uh-oh...the staples in his head are tuning him in to the squirrel network. He's going to be like the kid in Sixth Sense: "I see dead squirrels"

  7. I have actually seen squirrels swim. (Well, ok
one squirrel.) So maybe he just hit his head diving in.

Hope Jake is resting more quietly.
Yikes. What was that DNA comment again?

  8. Maybe the squirell was pushed!

I also hope Jake is resting better. Very unsettling.

  9. I am also bored at work. Jackie, you need to install a tiny phone by your pool with the squirrel crisis hotline number. This tragedy could have been prevented!

As for Best in Show, I don't know...Parker Posey's character is kind of scary ("We are so fortunate to have been raised with catalogues").
