Anyway, why do I need to watch a bunch of guys riding around in France, when Jacob's bike riding is so much more engaging. To say nothing of his driving. But apologies to Jackie in any case.
So, it is the weekend and it is going to be HOT. This is one of the main drags with having young men for offspring. It would be nice to get up and out early and have some fun before the day heats up. Unfortunately, Jake won't likely roll out of bed until 10:00 or so, with Nick right behind him at Noon-thirty or thereabouts. Oh well, we have our screen printing project that will probably keep us busy and out of the heat for a while.
(Oops, here comes Jake now and it's not even 8:30.)
Speaking of screen printing, I proposed the following for our first T-shirt attempt.

Yes - indeed, I have been punishing you with my silence! And, yes, Thor is in the Green - and likely to hold on to it all the way to Paris since Cav (the Manx Missile) was relegated today because of the argy-bargy at the finish.
ReplyDeleteAnd the cat is really amongst the pigeons between Astana, Columbia and Garmin over who is to blame for Georgie not being in yellow today. Twitter is all abuzz!
Oh, uh, did you want to talk about the Tour?
(LOVE the t-shirt idea.)
I hate that picture. I will not buy one that has that on it. If you have a party for the July Bdays and Jakes coming out, I will bring my screen printing stuff. I am not sure if it any good anymore, but there is a small screen and the film to block it.
ReplyDeleteI personally feel that Linda should stop beating around the bush and just say what she thinks.
ReplyDeleteThat settles it. Another picture for the shirts. Of all Jim's sisters, he is most afraid of Linda.
ReplyDeleteYes, we plan to have a great big party for Jake to celebrate his graduation and his bravery and good attitude through his recovery. Anyone and everyone is invited relatives, his friends and their families, our friends, any blog followers who want to. It will be Aug 1st or 8th after his surgical braces are removed and before he leaves for Humboldt. Nick turns 21 on the 7th so a potential hangover may prevent him from helping with the party prep. Like to celebrate Nick too but not to rain on Jake's parade. I'm leaning toward the 8th but it will be in the evening. Way too hot before that. So please add a comment or send an email if you have strong feelings either way.
Mom and Jean will be in So. Dakota on the 1st, so 8th is probably better for most of the Hanten contingent. When you decide what the plan is, let us know what we can bring.
ReplyDeleteOkay, so at this late date, I have broken down and joined the blogging.
ReplyDeleteA celebration for Mr. Jake is a fabulous idea. We'll be there!
About the t-shirt, Uncle Jon loves it. He took a print-out of Jim's artwork to a dinner party last night. (I took one of Jake's handsome grad pictures so our friends could see the "before.") Our neighbor Bob says he'd buy one for sure, since he's had his share of biking injuries.
I also would buy that t-shirt--it's hilarious.
ReplyDeleteRe: the Tour de Lance, I knew Jackie would be quite excited about "Big George Hincapie" making a run for the Maillot Jaune.(Told you I had to start watching it in order to have a conversation with her during the month of July.)
Party - August 8th!! It will be in the late afternoon or evening due to the "lovely" weather we are having. Can't believe (or maybe I can) the family reunion date fiasco. LOLITSHW=LOL in the stinking hot weather. BYOF=Bring Your Own Fan. Pardon me, I'm kinda grouchy from the heat. Not tolerating it well this summer. Off to LLU for pre-ops with MD and anesthisia tomorrow morning.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Jackie, is there an online translator for "Tour Talk"? I am especially intrigued by the definition of "argy-bargy". I think someone's been argy-bargying me.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about a translator - but there is a bingo/drinking game!

(According to it, i misspelled argee-bargee.)
